About Us

Recent life events have forced me to revisit my past.

How can I tell my daughter to be strong and speak out when I never did?!
I was sexually abused by my mother's boyfriend. I am not sure how old I was when it started but I know it stopped when we moved out of his house. I am not sure how often it happened, only that it was frequent enough to become part of my norm.

It happens slowly at first, a case of something called "grooming". A foot rub, a back rub, brushing and touching hair, desensitizing people until they realize they are being touched in places they know they shouldn't be. Then comes guilt.

It must be my fault, I must be doing something wrong. After all, they are an adult that other adults respect so it must be me. I'm bad. Then comes the terror of the thought of telling.

What if no one believes me? What if I break my family's hearts? What if we are thrown out and have no place to live?

So they don't tell in order to protect their family and their lives.

No child should ever suffer this burden. But they do, thousands of them, every day.

My name is Deb Bedrosian. I am a childhood sexual abuse survivor and I will be Silent No More!

It is time for all of us to start talking. Abuse, sex, mental health: all of these topics must be talked about openly in order to start fixing the stigma. There is a problem; in your state, your county, your community, and your neighborhood!

My daughter and I started this Foundation to help children find their voice. We are raising funds to support survivors of sexual abuse financially and emotionally, along with providing proactive education. Please help us to empower our children to be Silent No More. If you are looking to help in other ways, email us at silentnomorechildabuse@gmail.com.

Many thanks for your support,
Deb Bedrosian
